Frenchs Forest Pipe Relining

Vitrified clay pipes (VCP) were commonly used in many Australian households up until the early 1980s. VCP has become the go-to material because it is known for being resistant to many environmental factors and being earth-friendly, it is a great option for sewage systems. Despite its long life and resistance to sewage, it is still vulnerable to other factors that can cause damage. Tree roots, for instance, can cause cracks or break through the ceramic pipe, as can general wear and tear over time.

Up until thirty years ago, we had no choice but to resort to traditional methods of fixing broken or damaged pipes. These methods entail the excavation of pipes so they can be replaced. Another way to deal with sewage problems is to choose pipe relining over traditional methods.

Pipe relining is a relatively new method of repairing pipes performed by fitting a liner to the existing and broken pipes. Through this process, homeowners can avoid the hassles of excavating the old pipes. Due to the convenience it brings, many Australian homeowners are starting to favour pipe relining over other sewage repair options.

Fortunately, there is a relatively new and far more practical pipe repair option available today – ‘pipe relining’. Using this method, there is no need for messy excavations. Pipe relining can be done within a day and performed on any type of sewer pipe ranging in length from 40mm to 600mm.

How We Do Pipe Relining

The cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) inversion method of pipe repair entails different steps. Here are the steps we take to ensure that we resolve your sewage issues properly:

Partial Sewage Pipe Cleaning: Firstly, the affected pipe to be relined will be cleaned partially by one of our high-powered water jetters to prepare it for an internal video inspection.

Measuring The Pipeline: After the cleaning, it will be easier to insert a video camera for the inspection. This step is essential in determining whether pipe relining is suitable for your drainage issue.

Thorough Pipe Cleaning: Another round of pipe cleaning with the use of the high pressure water jetter will be done to clean the pipes and prepare it for the installation of the pipe liner. In this step, any debris and/or tree roots are removed.

Pipe Liner Installation: Once thoroughly cleaned, your plumber will insert the resin-soaked liner into the host pipe, then using an air compressor, will inflate the liner to fit to the diameter of the host pipe neatly.

Inflating The Pipe Liner: The resin will be allowed to cure. Steam is also used to facilitate the curing process.

Final Video Inspection: When the resin has set, another video inspection is done for quality control.

The Great Benefits of Pipe Relining

Pipe Relining in Frenchs Forest

Pipe relining is an innovative and exciting alternative to traditional pipe repair methods, offering those who utilise it many advantages. Here are some of the benefits you can expect to experience if you opt for pipe relining:

It is a cost-effective method – Pipe relining cuts on cost because it does not involve the long and gruelling process of digging, excavating and replacing the pipes. It is also worth noting that there is less damage to the landscape and therefore another saving.

Fast and efficient – With pipe relining there’s no need to deal with your home looking like a bomb hit it for days on end. In fact, pipe relining is a clean process and one that typically takes a mere day or less to complete.

A better performing sewer system – A big bonus of pipe relining is that it results in pipes that pass wastewater more steadily and pipes that are far more resilient to external forces such as ground movement and tree root invasion than ever before.

The material is also known for being sturdy. It is expected that it can last for more than fifty years. That is our guarantee. It also helps protect the pipes from further damage due to root intrusion.

Long-lasting – Once your sewer line has been relined, we guarantee it to work effectively for you for up to 50 years.

Just for the record I wanted to say that I have been extremely happy with Dr.Drip Plumbers and the way they have carried out what has been at times a difficult and messy job, fixing a pipe under my unit and restoring everything back to normal. They have been very professional and personable throughout the whole process (and always cleaned up after being here). I would certainly recommend them for other body corporate plumbing jobs.

Regards, Jill
